At myKaarma, we’ve always believed that great communication is at the heart of a better service experience. That belief was on full display at this year’s Tech Video Grand Prix, where technicians from across North America showcased the power of inspection videos.

We’re excited to announce the winners of the 2026 myKaarma Tech Video Grand Prix, a competition designed to recognize technicians who go above and beyond to help customers understand their vehicle’s needs, so they feel confident approving repairs.

Celebrating This Year’s Winners

This was myKaarma’s third annual tech video competition, bringing in impressive submissions from hundreds of technicians across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. After our judges reviewed this year’s highly competitive field, five techs stood out for their exceptional ability to communicate through video:

  • Josh Arnold of Austin Subaru (his second consecutive win!)
  • AJ Forster, Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights
  • Alec Martisauski, McGrath Kia of St. Charles
  • Christophe Secrist, Land Rover Denver
  • Gatlin Weidler, Mercedes-Benz of Greensboro

Each winner demonstrated what it means to combine technical expertise with clear, customer-friendly communication. They hail from five different states – Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado and North Carolina – and will each receive a $500 Amazon gift card. Their videos now serve as benchmarks for what great technician communication looks like in today’s service environment.

What Sets Great Tech Videos Apart

The winning videos weren’t just technically accurate; they were easy to understand and engaging, and built trust with the customer. Across all submissions, the top entries shared a few key qualities:

  • A professional introduction and approachable tone
  • Clear visuals highlighting areas of concern
  • Simple, jargon-free explanations of recommended repairs
  • Transparent communication that builds customer confidence

These elements don’t just improve the customer experience. They directly impact repair approvals and overall service performance.

Raising the Bar with AI-Powered Insights

This year’s competition comes on the heels of myKaarma’s launch of Tech Video Grader, a real-time AI solution built on our Collaborative Workflow AI (cwAI) framework.

Tech Video Grader helps service departments:

  • Standardize video quality across technicians
  • Provide actionable feedback in real time
  • Measure communication effectiveness
  • Drive consistency that leads to better customer outcomes

The same principles that defined this year’s winning videos are now measurable, coachable, and scalable across the entire service lane.

“Our data continues to show a strong connection between high-quality technician videos and increased repair order value,” said Ujj Nath, CEO of myKaarma. “When technicians clearly communicate their findings, customers are more comfortable approving the work. These winners set the standard for how video can be used to build trust and drive better service outcomes.”
