myKaarma is looking for a seasoned Database Architect to help develop, maintain, and improve its high performance, always available, scalable Database infrastructure. The candidate is expected to bring in industry best practice, combined with their own expertise, to define changes to our processes, systems, and personnel.  This role will also include planning our future architecture as it relates to our database systems and availability.

If you are ready for this challenge and can optimize, performance tune, architect, design, and maintain databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and Redis Cache, then you are the right candidate for this job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement , document and maintain database related best practices and system recommendations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help in writing complex and optimized SQL queries, creating stored procedures, database scripts.
  • Re-define database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, backup, and recovery specifications.
  • Direct our application architects and peers for solution implementation involving application and database components.
  • Recommend  partitioning maintenance, gathering and updating statistics, managing and optimizing disk space and memory, backup and restore, automated job setup, etc.
  • Recommend opportunities for improvements on overall systems, codes, process and practices.
  • Implement a process to document and do database design and architecture documentation.
  • Plan and install upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance.
  • Implement a load-balancing processes to eliminate down time for backup processes.
  • Implement a process for constantly monitoring the database and immediately addressing database issues and problems.
